That Cinder Work

Preamble:

From the Pre-Blast, some wisdom from Roman Emperor and stoic master Marcus Aurelius from his Meditations: "At break of day, when you are reluctant to get up, have this thought ready to mind: 'I am getting up for a man's work.  Do I still then resent it, if I am going out to do what I was born for, the purpose for which I was brought into the world?  Or was I created to wrap myself in blankets and keep warm?"

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey to the entrance to the park.
  • SSH - 15

The Thang:

Mosey to picnic tables.  Lots of extra picnic tables available from work being done at the park, so we put them to use.  20 was the magic number of the day.  PAX did two sets of the following:
  • Lunges - 20 each leg
  • Dips - 20
  • Decline Merkins - 20
  • Decline Shoulder Taps - 20 (Cumming Count)
Mosey back to the flag and grab your cinder.  Mosey to football field.  PAX lined up on the sideline, and following each exercise, would farmer carry the cinder to the other sideline to complete the next exercise.  Two sets of each of the following were completed.
  • Man-makers: 20
  • C.O.B.S. (Curls, Overhead Press, Bent-Over Rows, and Squats): 20
  • American Hammers: 20
  • Alabama Prom Dates (Weighted): 20
Mosey to center field.  Completed some flutterkicks, LBCs, BBSUs, and ended with a Ring of Fire with Merkins.  Shout-out to Flambeaux, DirtyMO, and Tricky for highest numbers.  

COT:

Discussed upcoming events (available on Slack) and lifted up prayers for new jobs and new job opportunities.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

During COT, each man also shared something that he appreciated about the man standing to his left.  If he did not know the man well, he shared that he respected that the man was out there in the Gloom.  YHC was greatly encouraged and hopes all PAX were as well.  Always an honor to lead in the Gloom.
