burn bootcamp’s got nothing on us

AO: Badapple

When: 2024-01-03

QIC: Rusty

PAX (12): Avis, Chalupa, Ponyboy, Sell-out, Shortcake, Spider, The Real Woody, The_OG Zima, Thud, Trebek, Turbine

Preamble:

I got their early to set up.  I brought all of my coupons and told the PAX to just bring themselves.  All I needed was an accurate count.  I thought I'd surprise everyone with the stations set up at the pull-up bar, then Spider runs by at 5:15am and ruined the surprise.

Warm-O-Rama:

Windmill x 10 Imperial Walker x 10 Toy Soldier x 10 Copperhead Squat x 10 Weed Picker x 10

The Thang:

We started our mosey to the sweet sound of "Hail to the Victors" in celebration of Michigan's victory.  I think the only one that enjoyed it was Woody, as he ran next to me belting out the lyrics.  The mosey took us down the hill, up the hill, past the playground(s), through the field, up the hill (by the sit-up station) and to the pull-up bar.  Everyone needed to partner up (good thing we had 12). We had 6 stations: Station 1: Pull-ups
  • As a group, you need to complete 30 pull-ups.  The time spent at each station is dependent on this group completing their 30.  One one partner can go at a time, while the other partner stretches their shoulders out using one of the bands I brought.  When complete, yell "rotate!"
Station 2: Mercans
  • Partner A does 10 mercans on the round balance board.  Partner B does 10 mercans at the same time using the handles.  Rinse and repeat until it's time to rotate.
Station 3: Medicine Ball
  • Partners go back-to-back and pass the 18 lb. medicine ball back and forth (switching sides before rotating).
Station 4: Step-ups
  • Both partners head over to the bleachers and do step-ups until it's time to rotate.
Station 5: Thrusters
  • There are 2 kettlebells at this station.  Both partners do thrusters until it's time to rotate.
Station 6: Swings
  • There are 2 kettlebells at this station.  Both partners do KB swings until it's time to rotate.
We mosey'd from the pull-up bar, down the trail, down the hill, through the field(s) and back to the flag.  The PAX did some rounds of SSH, LBC and Flutter kicks until we hit time.

COT:

Prayers for Goose, Ponyboy's cousin and my mother-in-law.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Blessed to have such a strong showing (12 total) on a frigid day.  I'm grateful for the opportunity to lead such a disciplined group.
