Preamble:

The Calm Before the Storm 17 PAX including myself.  My 2.0 Grayson (LittleBro) and his 3 friends also joined us.  Flambeaux led the running group and I led the ruck group.  Ace Ventura, Snowman, and I all pre-ran.  Hail came down briefly during our journey today as we enjoyed the last bit of tolerable weather before the ice storm that is expected to hit later today. An FNG came today via Baskins which we aptly named Big Mike for accidentally walking into the women’s restroom this past week.

COT:

During the COT, we recognized Goldberg’s family as needing prayer, Napalm’s daughter who is struggling with anxiety, and a praise for Durty Nelly’s sobriety.  I read a quote about how Jesus is with us through the storms of life. Life has a way of tossing us into storms we never saw coming. The wind roars, the waves rise, and fear whispers that we’re about to sink. But notice what happened with Peter—he was walking on water as long as his eyes were fixed on Jesus. The moment he looked at the storm instead of the Savior, he began to sink. The waves weren’t his downfall. Fear wasn’t even his downfall. It was the shift of his focus. And isn’t that so true for us? The trials themselves don’t drown us—what drowns us is losing sight of Jesus in the middle of them. So today, no matter what waves are crashing around you, don’t let your gaze drift. Fix your eyes on the One who calms the seas. He hasn’t changed. He hasn’t lost control. He is still the same Jesus who stretched out His hand to Peter and pulled him back up. And He will do the same for you. Keep your eyes on Him. The storm will pass, but His faithfulness never will.
