Bring Sally to Big Creek
AO: Big Creek
When: 2026-06-17
QIC: Mantooth
PAX (12): Brickyard, Deuce, Flambeaux, Ma Bell, Mantooth, Schneider, Snowman, Spit Valve, Sweetchuck, UMass-Todd Doherty, Vanna, Walgreens
Preamble:
It's been too long since I've visited Big Creek, so I grabbed the Q to force myself down south.
Warm-O-Rama:
PAX moseyed down towards the track and circled up in the parking lot for some SSH, Good Mornings, Weed Pickers, Moroccan Night Clubs, and Michael Phelps OYO.
The Thang:
With Big Creek being the only AO with a track, we had to take advantage of it (much to the dismay of many Southern PAX who don't utilize it enough apparently). First up... Mantooth's Merkin Mile. One one lap and deposit 15 merkins in 2:30 minutes. If the timer goes off before completion, start the next round where you're at. Complete 4 rounds for a total of 1 mile and 60 merkins in 10 total minutes.
We cooled down from M^3 with a one lap mosey and jumped straight into some core work with "Bring Sally Up, Bring Sally Down" with Big Boy Sit-ups (fingers locked behind the head and heels stay on the ground). Then we moseyed back to the flag where we circled up for some "Bring Sally Up, Bring Sally Down" with Merkins. This one was killer and a lot of PAX quickly went to "hand release merkins," or just flat out laying on the ground during the down (shoutout to Sweetchuck who was the biggest boss I saw keeping merkins going the longest). After this, we moseyed to the coupon pile and circled up for some "Bring Sally Up, Bring Sally Down" with squats. Holding an air chair on the down caused some PAX to start to creep higher and higher, so YHC asked for some Jungle Boy Squats to keep the hands on the ground.
After everybody was tired of this song, we partnered up and grabbed a coupon. Partner A moseyed to the 2nd sign on the big hill while Partner B did Curls (for the girls). Once Partner B returned from his run, we then did Skull Crushers, and then Overhead Press. This brought us to time and we moseyed back to the flag.
COT:
Father's Day 5k at The Phoenix, this Saturday at 8:00 (M's and 2.0's encouraged)
Christmas Party, Dec. 11th
Prayers for PAX across our region and for those traveling during the summer
Naked-Man Moleskin:
Big Creek was the 2nd AO I ever visited (after Black Water) and the first AO I had the privilege to be a site-Q. Once The Phoenix opened up, it's hard to pass up the short commute for this northerner, and I've only been back to BC once or twice. It felt good to get back there and reminded me how much I miss that AO, but I left COT encouraging PAX to venture north up 400 and check out The Phoenix or The Mine once in awhile.
Always a pleasure leading some fine Cumming men!
OH.... and the greatest band ever was listened to throughout the beatdown, while I did put on some LZ at COT. Love you, Jeffrey!
