Deck of Dora

Preamble:

Forecast was rain… and pain.  We only got one.  A deck of cards, a cinder block, and some grit.  What can a man make of these?  Nay- What can these make of a man?  The rest of the world fartsacked while 14 PAX found out.  The hard way.

Warm-O-Rama:

Run around the parking lot with some high knees, butt kickers, and carioca.  Circle up for blurry assortment of (I think) windmills, weed pickers, imperial walkers, and slow-motion side straddle hops.  Grab your cinder & head down to the field of dreams.

The Thang:

On tap was a Deck of Death, mostly abs.  The two Jokers were wild.

Spades- Side Straddle Hop

Clubs- Crunchy Frog

Hearts- Hammer (American)

Diamonds- Freddy Mercury

After each PAX drew a card (that’s 14…) we took an intermission for some Dora-style cinder work.  Pair up, line up on foul line.  One man runs out to 2nd base and does a burpee while the other works through these:

100 Thrusters
150 Bent-over rows
200 Curls

As pairs finished, they went back to the Deck to finish up.  Lawless chaos soon broke out as Pax whimsically reinterpreted their cards into… mostly Mercans.  Jokers went to: Devito who called 10 Burpees and MillerTime who went with a lap around the field.

Mosey back to the flag for some Mary.  “Cinder press flutter kicks” is all my brain remembers.

COT:

Shout out to the Burpees for Autism team & trophy.  Prayers for:

• The recent AO launches and the future PAX who will be impacted by F3
• No-See-Um’s son as he navigates adolescence, and for wisdom for mom and dad
• A swift recovery for Pinky

Naked-Man Moleskin:

TNT from MT about stepping out into new challenges & embracing the growth and change.  It resonated with many PAX who shared personal stories about career and fitness.  I’m always grateful for the positive vibes at F3.
