Field of Dreams

Preamble:

Apparently everyone had BIG Columbus Day plans as there were only four folks on Monday. This lead yours truly to believe it would be a light showing, perhaps hampered by fall break or other problems that men with school-age children deal with.

An active chatter in The Wreck channel seemed to rouse some spirits, or perhaps there were some opportunistic fellows looking at an easy O/U of 7.5. Big crowd awaited at the flag…

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey to the lower parking lot.

The Thang:

PAX then moseyed to the nearest baseball field to offer up sacrifice to the baseball Gods in tribute of the Brave’s advancement to the NLCS. In honor the the amount of runs scored in the Brewers series (12) and games played (4), the beatdown began as such:

Music: on

First base: 12x merkins

Second base: 12x one-legged squats, each leg

Third base: 12x crab cakes (“and football, that’s what Maryland does!”, little Wedding Crashers for anyone still reading)

Home: 12x burpees

Let the record show that the bases were bear crawled on the last series.

Pax then assembled at the low wall outside of the field for some 12’s:

First set: dips and box jumps

Second set: plank jacks and inclined push-ups.

There was some time to be killed, so at the bottom of the hill PAX did 12 fire hydrants per leg, stormed the incline, then broke for the flag.

A spirited round of Mary followed until the 6:15.

Convergence at something Webb park on 10/23.

Thankful for this day, let us not take it for granted.
