Preamble:

With the birthday week rolling on I invited all Pax to join me as we continued the celebration with another Q at The Phoenix. I attempted to draw more Pax with a guilt trip of it being my birthday week and to join us or get to another AO. I also Informed Pax that we would complete the workout with a challenge that would require Pax to give all they had- This may have scared many away??

Warm-O-Rama:

Pax grabbed their Cindy and we Moseyed to upper soccer fields. After taking in the mornings set up that included some glue sticks the mesmerized Pax were brought back to focus for quick warm up. Starting with 10 SSH, 6 weed pickers, 6 good mornings, 6 Toe touches all IC followed by Quad Stretch OYO (which we discovered none of the Pax have good balance) & finished with Michael Phelps OYO. YHC explained the workout to Pax during the final portion of the Warm UP.

The Thang:

the Stage was set with a large square with the 4 corners being set at 20 yds apart from each other. As usual YHC organized it will with Cones, Laminated Q cards, and glue sticks so there would be no confusion only Good times! Beat down designed as an OYO Pace which for the "Northside" is maximum effort with no slacking. Pax completed  exercise at a station and then progressed to next station completing 4 rounds. Rep Count based around 37. The movement between stations (20 yds) was pre-designated and as follows 1->2: back pedal; 2->3: Lunge Walk; 3->4 Bear Crawl; 4->1 Dutch Skater. Exercises as follows RD 1: 1-20 Cindy curls/ 17 Rows; 2- 37 Merkins; 3- 37 BBSU; 4- 37 Squats RD 2: 1-20 Cindy curls/ 17 Rows; 2- 37 Merkins; 3- 37 LBCs; 4- 37 Side Squats RD 3: 1-20 Skull Crusher/ 17 Rows; 2- 37 Merkins; 3- 37 American Hammers CC; 4- 37 bonnie Blairs RD 4: 1-20 Skull Crushers/ 17 Rows; 2- 37 Dry Docks; 3- 37 heels to Heaven; 4- 37 Single Leg RDLs (per Leg) When Complete Pax completed Cindy Curls, Skull Crushers, Rows to bring all rep counts to 37 for each completed set until the 6 was in. YHC picked Ditch Witch & Mantooth as Team captains (they picked first 2 "without" knowing the challenge; however, Ditchy had an idea. In fairness the rope was laying in the middle of the square the entire time). Ditchy got first pick and mantooth agreed with picks 2+3. Ditchy choose DDOS 1st, Fauci, Geek Squad & Mantooth grabbed The Body & MR Hand with his Overall 2nd draft pick, and Walgreens. With Teams set the Challenge was announced- Classic TUG-OF-War. Round 1 loser- 10 burpees; winner- Choice of Mary; Round 2 Loser- 5 wolverines winner- choice of Mary. Team Ditch Witch went 2-0 in a dominate showing (Mary RD 1-Dead bugs cause Ditchy don't slouch and RD-2 BBSU as time was expiring) Great effort and fellowship were displayed to close out the BD

COT:

PAX gathered for count-off, Name-o-Rama, Announcement, and prayer requests. Hill Seeker, NLB BD & Breakfast 2/28, ASS Eating Challenge. DDOS having procedure on legs (veins) and will be out for little bit and baby any day now or induction Monday; Several other pax are expecting. Thought of the day: Similar to our workout when we were fatigued and had already exerted most of our energy; boom a surprise of Tug-of-War challenge. We had to dig deeper and push with everything we had while also counting on our brothers around us. This example reflects many stories in the Old Testament where men were beat down, tired, ready to give up and hit with another hardship or challenge. However, they turned to God for Strength and Guidance! They didn't seek worldly things or lean on their own understanding. Men like David, Mosses, Job, Elisha, Joseph and many others set an example for us to follow. It's also important to remember that most of these men weren't alone and leaned on the fellow brothers for accountability, support, encouragement, and prayers. Let's follow these examples and be Godly men who impact our families and community in a Godly way; Remember you too have brothers to lean on for encouragement, support, and accountability. Finished with Pledge

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Grateful for the Opportunity to lead another Q this week and I'm Truly Blessed for the ability to do so. Very appreciative for the men who showed up to put in the work and support my birthday-week Q extravaganza. The Phoenix delivered strong energy, strong effort, and strong brotherhood yet again! Before Prayer I Challenged Pax who are Q'ing to take time and truly consider their Thought of the Day. When I Started regular attendance in August the thought of the Day was typically thought provoking and encouraging. This often led to deeper discussions and sometimes Pax opening up and discussing something that wasn't mentioned as prayer request. The extra time spent dwelling on this can really drive the 2nd and 3rd Fs. I have had several PAX tell me that the workout was great, but the COT is what hooked me. Let's not lose that, lately some COTs haven't included Thought of the day, and little discussion was had other than announcements or prayer request. Let's strive to continue going Deeper fellas.
