The unofficial start to summer begins, but more importantly a weekend to remember those who gave all so that we have the freedom to post, the freedom to fellowship, and the freedom to share our faith is also upon us.
We cherish too, the Poppy red
That grows on fields where valor led,
It seems to signal to the skies
That blood of heroes never dies.
– Moina Michael
When trying to come up with something clever for a workout, the word that I thought of when thinking of those we’ve lost in making this nation already great (sorry, the Donald) was valor.
valor: boldness or determination in facing great danger, especially in battle; heroic courage; bravery
So here’s what will go down. From City Hall, we’ll start with Mary.
V Roll ups
American Hammer
Little Baby Crunch
Oblique Dips
Rosalita
Then the real fun begins. Like a lot of F3 groups around the nation, we’ll be doing The Murph.
1 mile to the Rubicon swingset
Then 100 pullups, 200 merkins, 300 squats.
(We’ll get there in 20 sets of: 5 pullups, 10 Merkins, 15 Squats)
1 mile back to City Hall.
We will get there together, we will return together. Mile runs will not be a race, the PAX will not be separated. If you don’t feel like you can do 1 pull-up, your brothers are here, and well, Tuesday morning you’re going to really feel those aided 100 pullups.
See you in the morning!
