Preamble:
Reached out to Deuce to confirm he was good to Q at Big Creek the evening before and he told me he wasn’t able to make it. So I grabbed it and was excited to lead. Had an idea to incorporate basketball, but with the HCs growing in Slack, decided to audible during the PreRun.Warm-O-Rama:
Moseyed down to the track parking lot for the warm up. Making the turn to the track, I already heard some moans and groans from Soul Glo and Baskins. Soul Glo decided it would be awesome to trip and fall and turn it into and epic tuck and roll. Once down to the track, we did some Good Mornings, Weed Pickers, Willy Mays Hayes, Michael Phelps OYO, and SSHs. Now we were ready.The Thang:
On the track, we announced the first part of the BeatDown would be Mantooth’s Merkin Mile. Some PAX were familiar with this, but many have not participated before. So we explained that this would be a lap around the track followed by 15 Merkins with a time cap of 2:30 minutes. Once 2:30 minutes were up, PAX took off for another lap and 15 Merkins. We did this for 4 rounds (1 mile) in 10 minutes. Hearing Baskins mention that this was the fastest mile he had run in his adult life made me smile and I knew we were on the right track for a solid BeatDown. After MMM, we went to the parking lot where we partnered up. One partner Burpee Broad Jumped from light post to light post and then moseyed back around the loop while the other partner completed flutter kicks until they returned. After both PAX completed their exercise and lap, round two consisted Bear Crawls from light to light while their partner did American Hammers. After completing this, we took a long mosey back to the flag stopping 5 times to complete 3 Wolverines at each stop. This left us just at a minute left, so I decided we would perform a Cross Hold with our feet six inches off the ground. A lot of PAX had a misinterpretation of what six inches meant and YHC will be reaching out to many wives to inform them of this absurdity.COT:
