Preamble:

Had an idea of doing a team trivia BeatDown and thought a 90s alternative "name that tune" would be fun. So back to the 90s we went.

Warm-O-Rama:

PAX moseyed to the next level of the parking lot and circled up for some SSHs, Good Mornings, Weed Pickers, Willie Mays Hays, Michael Phelps OYO, and Moroccan Night Clubs.

The Thang:

There were a couple of different formats to play this that I shuffled through my head, but we started with having one team going first and the other team waiting to "steal." If the team could answer both the artist and the title then they would perform 5 reps of an exercise and the losing team would perform 25 reps. If they could answer one of either the artist or title, then the other team had a chance to complete the answer. If both teams give one answer, then both perform 10 reps. If no answer is given, then both teams perform 20 reps. Songs would play a 4 second clip and teams would then have 5 seconds to answer. Teams were Mr. Hand, Ditch Witch, and Schneider VS Schrute, Seaman, and Geek Squad (with YHC playing host). After a couple of rounds, this quickly became the Mr. Hand/Seaman show (insert pun here). So we pivoted the format to one player from a team answering and if they had to get help from their teammates, that would incur a 5 rep penalty. Opposing teams also came up with the exercise before the song was played. YHC always performed the losing amount of reps (so fun!). After 10 rounds, we had a halftime gRUNge run! PAX ran a loop around the 1st and 2nd levels of the parking lot back to the speaker. Time ran out before we could finish the 20 rounds, but it turned out to be a competitive game (between Mr. Hand and Seaman). PAX moseyed back to the flag for COT.

Enjoyed this one today and hope the PAX that showed up enjoyed it as well. I know a couple of PAX in the region who didn't make it that would have crushed this as well (you know who you are). Maybe next time.
