Preamble:

We, the PAX of Big Creek, in order to establish a baseline, promote physical readiness, secure future bragging rights, and ensure the continued testing of our manhood, do hereby ordain and execute this Big Creek Battle-Tested Baseline Beatdown.

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey'd to the field and did some SSH's, Willie Mays Hayes, Moroccan Night Clubs and Hillbillies.

The Thang:

4 tests to be repeated on a regular basis to gauge improvements:
  • 5 minute burpee test aka The Final Countdown (score: # of burpees)
  • 3 minute squat test (touch ground/full extension) (score: # of squats)
  • 200 yard bear crawl (score: yards of uninterrupted bear crawl from starting line)
  • 12 minute 400-yard hill runs (score: number of laps to nearest 1/2 lap)
All five PAX had performed the 5 minute burpee test before and all improved on their previous scores.  Congrats!  

COT:

Travel season has picked up for many of our pax; many experiencing life challenges.  Keep all in thoughts and prayers and remember we're all here for each other.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

The scores today aren't what matters; your scores in a couple of months are what matter.  Are you improving?  Are you finding ways to push yourself?  Thats life - you don't need to be perfect, you just need to be better than you were.
